Hey
y’all!
I
figured for my first post, I would write something to help y’all get to know
me. Here’s seven random facts about me:
1. I was born and raised in Georgia.
I figured it was probably clear from my
blog name that I live in Georgia. We are called the Peach State, after all. My
family is actually from Pittsburgh; I come from a huge Italian family. We’re a
loud bunch who loves food, our family, and the Lord. Even though my entire
family resides in Pennsylvania to this day, I was born in Georgia. It’s where I
grew up, and what I consider home.
2. I’m obsessed
with elephants.
I adore elephants, and I’m not quite sure
if obsessed is a strong enough word. They’re such majestic creatures, yet they
are so wise and playful. One of my strangest goals in life is to meet an elephant.
I would love to be able to see one of these creatures up close. I would also
love to ride one!
3. I collect elephant objects.
This fact coincides with number two, but
I figured I’d separate them. I collect elephant items. I have almost every type
of clothing item you could imagine with elephants on them: shirts, skirts,
dresses, scarves, jewelry items. I think my most unique piece is a set of
elephants carved from ebony wood that once belonged to my great-grandfather. He
was a missionary who travelled to Africa. He was so close to the people he met
on his missions that he became an honorary co-chief of a tribe there. The
elephants were a gift from one of the members of his tribe.
4. I’m a sister of Alpha Delta Pi.
I can honestly say that one of the best
decisions I’ve made in college was to go through recruitment. It was a bit of a
stressful process, but I found my home. I am so proud to be a member of this
sorority. I’m so incredibly grateful for all of the friends I've made through it,
and I couldn’t be prouder of my sisters.
5. I LOVE Mac and Cheese.
I could probably eat my weight in Mac and
Cheese. This statement isn’t an exaggeration. I just love the stuff. If I’m
making a box of it, Kraft is definitely my favorite. If I’m making an
individual microwavable bowl, Velveeta takes the cake. I also have a recipe for
some amazing, simple Crock-Pot Mac and Cheese that I would be more than willing
to share.
6. I have a serious case of Wanderlust.
I’ve been enamored with the idea of
traveling lately. I’ve only been out of the country once for a mission trip to
Guatemala. I can honestly say that the trip changed my life. I want to see more
of the world. I’m hoping to go on a medical mission trip to Honduras or
Cambodia with my college next summer. I would love to travel to Bali, India,
Italy, and Africa as well.
7. I’m a Pre-Nursing major.
At my college, Pre-Nursing is its own
major. I’ve already changed my major twice; I was previously Biology, Pre-Med
and English Pre-Law. I think I found my niche with nursing though. I’m planning
on becoming a Nurse Practitioner, and I would love to specialize in Pain
Management. I wouldn’t be saving lives with this specialization, but I would hopefully
be giving people their quality of life back.
I
hope that this post helped y’all get to know a little bit about me!
Thanks for reading!
